Manuela has been Freeride Worldchampion and won the Verbier Xtreme in 2022. Her grandmother, an elderly lady from the flatlands, leads through the Filmportrait. She tries to understand and explain her granddaughters fascination with freeride snowboarding and mountain adventures, while Manuela tries to understand why she loves sliding on a piece of wood that much despite many struggles and keeps pushing all those years. The movie touches current politics, females in sports and climate change, as the multifaceted and fast lived season pushed the protagonist more than ever to use her voice in ongoing political discussions and poses the question of the value and the right to do sports for a good quality of life. The spectator is thrown into a swirl of events, refelecting the breathlessness of an athletes life in our current world.
