Ivo Ninov is a world famous Big Wall climber and base jumper. Over the years, Ivo became known and appeared on the covers of the largest magazines “Climbing magazine” and “Rock and Ice magazine” with his record speed and free climbs in the El Capitan Massif in the Yosemite Valley, California.
In 2011, he and his friend Dean Potter set a world record for the longest Wing-suite base jump from the northern wall of the Eiger.
11 world records (of which 9 have not yet been beaten) for speeding some of the most famous lines, including The Reticent Wall, in 2006 with Dean Potter and Eamon McNealy, for 34 hours and 57 minutes; “Pressure Cooker” in 23 hours and 41 minutes, with McNealy; again with him – “Virginia”, for 17 hours and 24 minutes; “Magic Mushroom” – in 55 hours and 15 minutes.
Ivo has a total of 76 climbs on El Cap. In 2002 they crossed the cult route “Freerider” with Simon Antamaten, and Ivo recorded two premieres – “Jump line”, for 14 days, solo, and with Nicolas Favrese – “Lost one translation” 7b + trad, the only free route, made from the bottom up, for 27 hours. In 2006, he and Dean Potter climbed El Cap and the Granite Dome granite dome in 14 hours.
