Laurent Jamet, director: Laurent Jamet was born in Paris in the mid 80s. From a young age he is attracted by the cinema. In order to differentiate and test his limits he begins aggressive skating in the course of adolescence. This Passion that will follow for nearly ten years gives him the opportunity to show this fascination for the image. These shorts purely recreational rollerblading films yield gradually to a more ambitious idea: find the answer, the reasoning, the state of mind that drives the human brain to accept physical pain in the pursuit of a specific goal, a fulfillment. It is this idea that guides his films throughout his career.

Holding a science graduation, he entered the ESRA, the Superior School of Film Production, in order to deepen his knowledge of the many small and mysterious workings of the moving image. After two years of studies, the need for discovering is too insistent, and negotiating its return to school the following year, he left, bundle on his shoulder, around the world. It was during a trip to New Zealand that he met many professional skiers, and at the same time discover the world of mountain films. He ended up being fascinated by skiers, their humility, their values, all it takes to Laurent, who shares their vision of life, to make friends with them. Gradually, he made his way in the closed world of the ski movie, and today is recognized by his peers for his high quality work. His film studies allow him to translate into the world of ski film techniques in cinema.
